A Long Way Gone Ch:11-12

In my opinion I thought it wasn't the happiest chapter. The boys just get so far apart from one another. It is not good for them. In my opinion they are slowly getting into a horrible state of mind, when they could just crack. The good thing about these chapters was that guy Gasemu. Ishmael knew him which was really good. He was able to remember good parts about his child hood. Gasemu also told Ishmael about stories of him. And what Ishmael would do when he was happy and angry.

Later in the chapter it was really, really depressing when they got to the village and the rebels have already attacked it. Ishmael was so made he started to get very angry with one of the boys for holding him back from the village. I thought that keeping him from the village was good because he probably would of died or been recruited. Then they got to the next village which was good because they saw kids and families, also Ishmael had something to keep him from thinking about his memories everyday. Then when the rebels came to the village. They had to start to be soldiers. That was so depressing.
